Special Olympics
Track & Field

Track & Field: Our Special Education Department hosts this event usually held at Calvert High School. Training for the Track & Field event is done at your child’s school, usually during school hours. Most schools participate, however participation depends on your school having a coach to train the athletes. If your child wants to participate in this event, you may want to double check with your child’s teacher/ school in February /early March to be sure your child’s school is participating, and that your child is signed up.

The meet this year will be at Calvert High School on Wednesday April 28th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The rain date is April 30th. We expect around 500 athletes to compete. Please come out root on all the athletes during this special event.

This event also counts as one of the qualifiers to be able to compete in the Maryland Special Olympics Summer Games

Track & Field events are done in participation with the County School System’s Special Education Department.
